![]() I am a gandy dancer. Ive laid many a railroad track pounding spikes, carrying wood, and steel rails, with aching back, from hither and yon. The track Ive laid has been seen by many from east to west and as I stand looking at my work now, I know it extends as far as the eye can see. It winds off curved and sometimes straight into the distance with little sparkling reflections of sun blinking off the shiny rails. I would say to those who have an ache to know, if you look far enough, you shall be able to observe that those tracks leave the earth and like those tracks, I am going back to the stars. ![]() |
