Chapter 95, Part 3

Ivy Walls, Book 6David glance over at Daniel and noticed he bowed his head politely to a young woman, who chatted and smiled with a second young lady. Two blondes. Beautiful. He squeezed his legs together. Feels good. They look good, too.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Wonder if they’re going to the Mardi Gras tonight?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Are you kidding?” Daniel asked, as the waiter approached them. “Two specials,” he said, “and some snacks please.” The dark man placed two cocktail napkins on the small table, smiled and stared at the young men but only for a short time. “And what is your name sir?” Daniel asked. Ivy Walls, Book 6 The words warmed the heart of the waiter. He wished he could keep the young men in his view for a long time. But he knew he would have to be satisfied with casual observances, at least for the present time. “My name is Adam Morning,” he said, looking at the Delta Rhos through gentle brown eyes. He blinked slowly at Daniel and then David.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You look familiar to me, sir,” David said. “Is it possible we could have met before somewhere? Either in Indiana or elsewhere?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “We haven’t met, gentlemen,” he said. “I’ll get your specials for you and some easy eating food.” He turned and walked back toward the bar.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David and Daniel noted his slender build and his expensive appearing dark charcoal slacks. David thought that the jacket that ended at his waist and came together in back with a slight curve that ended in a sort of arrow that pointed downward to the separation of his buttocks was reminiscent of an Att design he had seen. Let’s see. Was it at The Lands? Or was it at DeLong? Couldn’t have been in the Palaqua. I don’t think it could have been in the Palaqua, anyway. David stared at Daniel and guessed Daniel’s thoughts as Daniel kept Mr. Adam Morning in his view.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Adam Morning?” Daniel said softly and chuckled.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Do you think?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I think so, brother. I’ll bet he’s an Att.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I hope we’re not kidding ourselves,” David said, as he looked toward the end of the club car. The blonde facing him winked and he tingled inside, between his legs, and in the pit of his stomach. She must be with a girlfriend. She surely wouldn’t be sitting in a club car drinking, whatever she’s drinking, if her husband we’re also here. “I hope we’re not deluding ourselves, thinking there are Att all around us, protecting us.” He leaned closer to Daniel, who listened intently, and continued, “We have to protect ourselves and not depend on them. Besides, remember the Palaqua and the Pondu battles? The Att are not fighters.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Well, they help us in other ways.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Right,” David said, dropping the conversation as Adam walked up to their table and set two Santa Fe Specials, pink in color, with a long paper straw. “How long are those straws? They must be two feet long,” David said, laughing and answering his own question. He bent it over and put in his mouth. “Thanks, Adam. I that really your name?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yes sir,” Adam said. “I think you will enjoy these nuts. They are from the jungles of South America....”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Any place we know?” Daniel asked, as he sucked his drink through his straw.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I don’t think so, sir,” Adam said. “These are small meat sandwiches, pickles, olives, green and dark, celery, crackers, mild goat cheese, and carrot sticks.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Looks good, Adam,” Daniel said, looked around the car’s interior and asked, “Where is the music coming from?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “The player is behind the bar. It’s a record player, sir,” Adam answered and stepped backward. “Anything else?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I like your jacket, shirt, tie, slacks and shoes,” David said, sipping hard.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Thank you sir,” Adam said, as he turned and walked away.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “He’s not an Att,” David said, hiccuping. “Boy that drink is good. What’s in it?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I don’t know. I think it’s mostly lemonade.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “No it has something else in it besides squeezed lemons.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Like what?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Like smiles,” David said, looking past Daniel at pretty blue eyes, rouged cheeks, heavy mascara and petite soft lips.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel stuck his head in David’s line of sight to the pretty blonde. “Hey there, Romeo. Like what?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Like something better than sugar and lemon,” David said, and cleared his throat. “My gosh, I’ve finished this drink. How about you?” he asked Daniel and raised his hand for Adam. Adam nodded and placed two more Specials on a tray and carefully walked down the center aisle. He set the new drinks down and picked up the empty glasses.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Do you like the Specials?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “They’re very good,” David said, hiccuping again. They heard a soprano giggle from the far end of the car.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel’s body warmed up. He could feet the increase in heat around his neck, under his chest muscles, down his belly, around his belly button, between his legs and along the inside of his thighs. “You guys make a good special,” he said to Adam, lifted the straw out and took a long drink. “Very good drink.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Thank you sir,” Adam said, as he picked up the straw and walked back toward the bar. He bused other tables and took orders from other passengers. He watched Daniel and David enjoy their snack food and their Santa Fe Specials. If they only what was in store for them. I wish I knew. He placed more used napkins and empty glasses on his tray and walked back to the bar. “Do you want me to help you wash some of these glasses?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “No Adam,” the dark man said. “It just takes a few moments. We’re doing fine, working together for the first time. I’m glad though, that I don’t have to tell you everything to do.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Thanks,” Adam said, turning and watching his customers enjoy the day. He watched David and Daniel and especially enjoyed watching them. He felt a warmness and at the same time a sadness in his heart for these young men. He knew their journeys would be far and difficult and he hoped their God would protect them. He saw and older man raise his arms and hold up two fingers. He understood the gentleman and his wife wanted two more Specials. He turned and looked at the bartender. “Hey Martin,” he asked, “may I take two of these Specials?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David watched Adam walk light-footed past them and to the end of the car. He turned as oriental perfume surrounded him and a dark-haired Asian woman in a tight ankle length Mandarin down, splattered with dragon embroidery past by, dragging a long white mink stole with one hand, while supporting a foot long cigarette hold with the other.
Ivy Walls, Book 6Nee how ma?—How are you?” she asked without looking at David or Daniel. The tone of her voice startled David—he jammed the straw into his lower lip and stopped drinking. His eyes followed the purposefully movement of her buttocks and hips and he wanted to reach out to run his hand over the perfect curve of he rear end. He didn’t know whether it was his natural inclination or the Santa Fe Special—he knew he wanted to do it to her—touch her. How can I stop her?
Ivy Walls, Book 6Wo how, sh’yeh sh’yeh nee—I am fine,” Daniel said, circling the rim of his glass with his tongue, now bright red from three Specials.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The Asian woman stopped, turned and stared at Daniel and then David then Daniel and then David. She puckered her lips, slowly placed the cigarette holder in her mouth, she seemed to blink in rhythm with the Samba music and the castanets, and Daniel thought he could see a slight sideways movement of her hips. She inhaled, without taking eyes first from Daniel then David then Daniel then David.
Ivy Walls, Book 6Wo how, sh’yeh sh’yeh nee—I am fine,” David said, hoping she would move closer to them. She placed the hand holding the long white mink stole on her hip and stepped toward them one foot in front of the other. In his mind, David undressed her as she approached their table and by the time she stopped she stood naked, wearing only a sheer bra and see- through silk panties. She was barefoot and he couldn’t stop smiling at her.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You are both winsome,” she said, as the Delta Rhos stood and looked down at her face, neck and breasts.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You are lovely, my lady,” Daniel said, using the sex of his voice in way David had not heard before.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “My precious young, sweet men,” she added and blew smoke again from her holder. “I did hear you speak my language didn’t I?” She scrutinized every inch of them. David became aroused watching her eyes move.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “How did you learn the common language?” she asked looking up into their eyes. “I love blue eyes. I adore red hair,”she said to David. “I adore wavy blonde hair,” she added looking at Daniel’s face. “I adore strong, masculine men and everything about them.” She arched her eyes waiting for the response to her question.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Some very old men who were good teachers,” David said, still trying to see her naked. He wished Daniel hadn’t spoken Chinese to her.
Ivy Walls, Book 6Nee g way-shing—What is your name?
Ivy Walls, Book 6Wo-duh ming-dzih shih Daniel Harmon—My name is Daniel Harmon,” Daniel said, and stuck a hand in his trouser pocket.
Ivy Walls, Book 6Wo-duh ming-dzih shih David Parlee—My name is David Parlee,” David added and wished his name was more romantic, more French, and more grown up.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Are you both going to attend the Mardi Gras tonight?” she asked sticking the holder back into her mouth. David noticed she held it between her teeth but with her lips closed.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 They nodded and she seemed pleased.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 I wish she would tell us her name. David shifted his weight and glanced at Daniel.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Gads, is she a pretty lady. Daniel pictured the two of them in an upper berth, he naked, save for his undershorts, and she with a sheer gown that he could easily remove. He imagined he circled her closer breast with his tongue and her farther breast with his finger, enjoyed sucking her nipple and circling it again and again softly and gently with his rough, hot tongue. Daniel appeared startled and drew her attention toward him as he imagined she slid her hand down the front of his undershorts. Her fingers were circling him expertly.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 She puffed on her holder and stepped backward. “Tana must say good-bye for now, but perhaps we shall keep a few moments of company at the party tonight?” She took another step backward and said, “Ta!”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 They watched the beautifully robed lady walk toward the end of the car and approach the end table where Adam held a chair for her. “Don’t stare,” David advised and sat down again. They spoke in lower tones and stopped looking at Tana.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I’m not staring,” Daniel said. “She made me so hot.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Me too!”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I wondered if we were both in a berth with her. Man I can tell you I was and it was so real. She has beautiful breasts, a slight very feminine curve in her belly and smells great between her legs. He skin is so soft...,” Daniel said, and noticed that David stared at the ceiling. He licked his lips and realized his mouth was juicy. The heat wave hit again. He took a deep breath and asked David, “Well?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I had her in our bed and I kissed her neck, her soft red lips, her breasts and started to kiss her belly when it all faded when she said, “Ta!” He frowned. “What does Ta mean?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I don’t know whether it’s old Chinese or what, but it must mean good-bye,” Daniel offered, as he reached into the tray and started eating a small sandwich. “Good-bye in Chinese is, ’Dzai j’yen,’ I know that,” he said.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I hope she has many Specials before she comes to the party tonight. What do you think she’s going to wear?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I hope she’s wearing her costume. It certainly is pretty. It’s striking.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David looked down toward the end of the car and noticed that the car was empty except for the older couple and Tana. The pretty young ladies were gone. They must have gone by when we were talking. “Listen, babe,” David started. “We must try to figure out what we’ll wear tonight,” David said, finishing his drink. “Boy these Specials are great.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 They munched their sandwiches and finished their drinks as David asked. “If you had your choice what costume would you wear?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “My red battle uniform. You know, when were in the Palaqua and ready to battle the Pondu. Everything fit me perfectly. I like the way my manhood fit in the jockstrap.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Loin cloth or brief,” David corrected. “Oh yeah. You really looked great in that outfit. Red plumes and all. Let’s see. You had the red headdress with three red plumes, the brightest and really crazy red I’ve seen, red battle belt, red sword, trimmed in gold, and did you wear your red jockstrap during the battle?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel nodded.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Good, if you had that attire, you would need to wear the strap tonight.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 They laughed loudly.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Funny,” David said, as he swallowed hard. “I would wear that gold ceremonial attire: gold helmet, gold battle belt, gold short sword, gold jockstrap with the horn bulge and gold battle boots.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Oh yeah,” Daniel said. “You looked like a real god in that uniform. We all looked great.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Adam passed them again and they shook their heads indicating they didn’t want more drinks. He walked out of the club car.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “He must be off duty now,” David said, spreading his legs.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “He’s probably getting ready for the party,” Daniel suggested.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “...and of course the red, tan and white sandals. Gads, with that chocolate skin color, we must have looked like birthday cakes.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Good enough to eat, anyway,” Daniel added and said to David. “What d’yuh say let’s get back to the compartment and see what we can dig up to wear tonight. OK?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “OK!” David said. They stood and looked at Tana. She smiled at them and held a glass up toasting them. They bowed, turned and left the club car. David followed closely behind Daniel.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 They stepped through the noisy entrance bouncing platforms, stepped over the steel plates hiding the car couplings, and leaped into their car, closing the door behind them. David smelled the metal, steam and coal of the train, and imagined he smelled newly cut grass or alfalfa. They approached the compartment door, jostled by the bouncing coach. “Almost like dirty basketball,” David said, laughing.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Their bodies reacted by swaying and bouncing in different directions as Daniel unlocked, then opened the door, looked inside the main room, and gasped, as he slowly walked over to the bed. “Unbelievable“ he shouted, as he tried to contain his excitement. “David?” he shouted again.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What is it?” David tried to see the reason Daniel stared at the bed. He walked up to and stood next to Daniel. Both young men remained silent, in disbelief, looking at Daniel’s red battle uniform and David’s gold ceremonial attire, spread out appropriately on their bed. “We got our wish,” David said, bending over and slowly lifting his gold helmet off the bed. He kissed it, turned it upside down, looked inside, turned it around and put it on. Backing up slowly, he crouched and looked at his reflection in the mirror. “It’s beautiful. Gads, Danny, I love this uniform,” he said, containing his emotion. He stepped back to the edge of the bed and reached down again and picked up his strap. He held it to his face and adored the smoothness. Many battle scenes of the Palaqua came and went. He blinked hard to rid himself of the few tears. “Feel this material. Soft, smooth, stronger than silk,” he said, as he looked down and saw the small balls next to each other. He picked them up and handed one to Daniel. Remember what these are?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yeah, our second skin. The Chiqua call it battle armor. Or was it the Att that called it battle armor? Well, anyway, knives, weapons and blowguns can’t penetrate it.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Right,” David said, as he unrolled his material and stretched it. “Amazing,” he said, stretching it wider than his body. “Guess we should wear this tonight, huh?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Why?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Dammit, Daniel. We’re going to wear these, primarily because of what happened to you. Remember? Someone tried to kill you?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I get it,” Daniel said. He raised his lower lip and nodded. “Agreed, we’ll wear them. Check this one,” he said, stretching it. “The more you stretch it the more invisible it becomes.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yeah, when we have then on you can’t see them.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “OK then,” Daniel said, tossing his battle armor ball back on the bed. It began to slowly roll back up into a ball, as did David’s.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “The helmet looks great,”Daniel agreed, as he touched David’s shoulder.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David turned around and watched Daniel rotate slowly. He admired the red headdress, adorned with three short full red plumes. He recalled the first time Daniel had put on the red headdress and saw Daniel wearing the red headdress, the flickering wall lamps, and watched him turn wearing only his the headdress. “You’ll be a knockout tonight,” he said.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “How about you?” Daniel asked. “You’ll be irresistible in all that gold.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “The party should be fun,” David added, as he set his helmet on the corner table.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I hope it’s productive,” Daniel said, caressing himself,.gently, through his slacks. He lifted his pullover sweater up over his head, tossed it on the bed, and started to unbutton his shirt. “But first I need a shower. How about you? What do you say?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “After meeting Tana, I’m going to take a hot shower first then a very cold one,” David said, as he pulled his sweater off over his head. “Danny,” David started to ask.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What?” Daniel said, stepping out of his slacks and undershorts at the same time.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What did you mean when you said you hoped it would be productive?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Tonight, of course,” he answered, forcing his shoes off with his feet.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Productive? In what way?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I need to blast Dave,” Daniel said. “I’m hard. I ache.” He stepped on the toe of his sock and pulled his foot out of it, keeping his legs spread. “I just hope it happens.” He flipped off his other shoe and held his scrotum and penis, with great care, as he ambled toward the shower room door. “When it hurts for me to touch myself or feel myself, it means only thing; it’s time to blast,” he pontificated as he opened the door.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yeah, I know what you’re saying,” David said, pulling his socks off with his feet. He rubbed his sides, belly, pelvis and slowly felt the hardness in his testicles and penis. Yeah, they hurt. It’s time to blast.
Ivy Walls, Book 6
David opened the door of the shower room, stepped inside and closed it after him.

Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I don’t care what you say, you never take me to anything interesting,” Sheila said, to her husband. She dabbed a few tiny drops of perspiration from above her upper lip. Looking down at her lace hanky, she said. “Geez, you’re a cheapskate. We can’t go to the club car, we brought a picnic basket with mostly greasy fried chicken and we’ve been to the dining car once. Fred, I’m telling you, you’re going to die without spending any of your inheritance.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Keep going,” he said, without looking at his wife.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 She arched an eyebrow and watched a dark warrior in red approach her and began to fan herself. “Give me my other fan Fred,” she gulped. “It’s on your left, for God’s sake.” Her mouth dropped and she fanned herself using great vigor.
Ivy Walls, Book 6“Are you telling me you need two fans?” he said.
Ivy Walls, Book 6“Yes and someday you will understand why,” she said. She looked up.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “It’s not hot in here Sheila,” her husband said, without taking his eyes of his newspaper.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “It’s getting there,” she said, as a tall, muscular young man with a chocolate body, full red lips and long, blonde hair approached her. She admired his red, red, red costume, took noticed of his chocolate face, neck chest, belly, arms, legs and gorgeous red sandals. She inspected him so quickly it was as though he approached her as if he were walking in slow motion. She felt her heart pound, stroked the pulse in her neck, and decided her ears had popped. Suddenly, she didn’t care whether her condition was due to the altitude or due to the young man with a larger than life strap or loin cloth, whatever it was, severely strained in holding his manhood in check.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 She fanned herself too rapidly to smile. Her eyes went from feet, knees, thighs, bulging loin cloth kissable belly button, strong, muscular stomach, caressable chest muscles, neck, beautiful face, painted lips and deep blue eyes, and flapping blonde hair. Those eyes. She felt her lips against his. The blonde warrior looked at her and she warmed inside, not wanting to take her eyes from his. He blinked, smiled and continued past her.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Sheila felt her heart racing, looked up and directly behind her chocolate darling strode still another vibrant chocolate body. She didn’t miss a beat fanning her face and chest. This one was capped with gold around his head, belly, a bouncing loin cloth, and feet that followed dutifully behind the red raper. “We’re going to the Mardi Gras, Fred,” she said, finding her words hard to form. She cleared her throat. Not taking her eyes off the young hips, she turned, as they passed, and noticed the very sheer red and gold materials that thinly veiled the curves of their hard buttocks moving majestically too quickly away from her. “Yes sir, skin flint, we’re going to the Mardi Gras.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Oh really?” Fred asked, turning the page. “What are you staring at?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Of course,” she said to him and continued looking at the material and the bodies. The woman in her wanted to slowly take the loin cloths off and examine the material while romping in a huge bed. But the seamstress in Sheila had never seen those materials before and longed to feel and examine them. I’d love to make a dress made out of that stuff.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Fred coughed.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yes, really! We’re going. At least I’m going.” she said, as she turned and took out a compact from her purse. Surely a west coast newspaper would run the story. A nearly naked young woman, none other than Sheila Jane Beaumont, of the Rock Plains, New York Beaumonts, paraded into the dining room of the Northwest Limited, dined, danced and kissed many young men, into submission, loving the evening way. Her costume was elegant, bright white and very, very chi chi and sheer. But no such luck. Ah well. She ignored his question and checked her hair in the mirror. “It’s alright. It may get mussed up anyway. If the phrase ’Mardi Gras’ has any meaning at all.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Well, Sheila,” Fred asked. He closed the newspaper, grabbed the next page and flipped it open again, snapping it wide open. “What are you going to wear?” sounding somewhat distance and mostly uninterested. “I understand there is no dress code.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “As little as possible; enough to keep from being arrested.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What?” he said, embarrassed as he lowered his paper and stared at her. “Are there any cops on the train? I hope, for our sake, there is not.” He noticed she wore no brassier and her breasts seemed to stand up firmer than last night.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Shit! I married a stuff shirt,” she said, and thought about her costume; how little she would wear. She looked at her husband. They had been married for two days and her heart skipped giddily down the aisle of their pullman coach, dancing with the young men, touching them, admiring their chocolate skin, red plumes, gold helmet, kissing their blue eyes and their vibrant red lips. Her last fantasy was of their joggling loin clothes that covered magic. She dropped her compact in her bag , fanned herself and stared at evening night in the Rocky Mountains. She wanted to cool off by spreading her legs. The cool air blew gently against her inner thighs. Sheila thought only the two young men who by now were in the dining room, with filled dance cards. She didn’t notice Fred was aroused by the beautiful symmetry of her breasts through her light chiffon blouse. He imagined he would remove her blouse using only his teeth. He squeezed his legs together and smiled again.

Frontier hipped his twin brother, who elbowed his back, but nonetheless moved over closer to window. “I want this whole have to myself, Montpay, he said to his blonde twin. He drew an imaginary line up the center of the green velvet bench seat.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “That’s more than half,” Montpay complained and stuck his tongue out at Frontier.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “How would you know? You’re only ten and I’m a full ten minutes older than you are. So since I’m older, you have to do what I say. Besides, you’re not as smart as I am.” He leaped up toward Montpay and grabbed for his tongue. Montpay sucked it in and punched Frontiere in the stomach.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Bastard,” Frontiere gushed, doubled his fist and smashed Montpay’s lips.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Prick,” Montpay shouted back and slapped his brother full palm against the side of his face. He kicked him back toward the arm of their seat.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Mrs. Lovesickle peered at her young responsibilities, lowered her book, and warned, in firm tones. “Well bred young men do engage in fisticuffs in public, let alone swear in public or fight in public, so I want you, Mr. Frontier to remain pinned to the arm of the seat on the aisle while you, Mr. Montpay, glue your tiny bottom to the right arm and the window and if either of you moves toward the other one, or touches the other one, I shall, in full view of the sitting and apparently listening public in this car, paddle your asses so that they will blaze red, pink and white neon for a week.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Frontiere listened with his detached manner, rocked his head back and forth, sideways, as she spoke, rolled his eyes, as though convulsed, leaned his head, shoulders, and arms out into the aisle so he could touch every body that walked by.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Sit up,” Mrs Lovesickle ordered.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I am up,” Frontier said, supported his head on his crooked elbow, and surveyed slowly up the aisle.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You are not up,” Montpay shouted. He glanced up at Mrs. Lovesickle, slowly blinking his pale blue eyes, trying to become her favorite twin again. He didn’t like the way she arched her eyebrows, indicating she presently had no favorite. He tried a smile and got a stern stare instead. “Sit up straight, Frontiere,” he tried, sounding like her. She looked at him out of the corners of her eyes and returned their gaze to her book. It didn’t work. Fuck her. And fuck Frontiere too. Montpay pretended to read his child’s book again but instead imagined he had stripped and tied Frontiere to a large, tall stake and he was whipping his bare butt. Serves him right. Hurts me just as much as it does him. Almost as much. I don’t feel a thing. Beg me. Beg me and I’ll stop beating your ass. Maybe! He giggled as Frontiere spoke under his breath.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I see two Indians coming toward me and they’ve got big wads,” he said, tapping his feet, as though tap dancing on the edge of the bench seat Mrs. Lovesickle occupied. She slapped his Buster Brown shoes, trying to get him to stop, to no avail.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “They have big what?” she asked, her lips silently pronouncing each word from her Romance Novel. She clearly hadn’t heard Frontiere’s exclamation.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Frontiere stared as if frozen in time, while Montpay crawled over to his brother, put his arm around his shoulder and laid on top of him to try and see the ’Indians’ with big wads. Montpay became transfixed also as they watched the Indians stride toward them. Frontiere didn’t noticed that Montpay was leaning over his head and was on top of him. He was busy gaping at the big guys, their strong chocolate bodies, red plumes, a gold helmet, belts, swords, and sandals that laced up around their legs to below their knees. “Look at that red athletic supporter,” he giggle, “and that guy has a gold one—around their wads,” Frontiere said, pointing for Montpay. Montpay nodded as if hypnotized.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “The ones we use in gym are only white. I’d like a gold one,” he said, leaning farther over his brother. Their heads were close together as the Indians walked close to them.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Frontiers reached out to grab Daniel’s supporter. He wanted to snap it. Daniel grabbed his wrist and stopped Frontiere’s arm. He held it tightly, turned and said to Mrs. Lovesickle, “May I?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 She looked up at Daniel, surveyed his chocolate body and red costume, complimented him on his inventiveness, rationalized that Frontiere could do with a rebuke from an adult male, nodded, and returned her eyes to her book. She occasionally glanced at Daniel’s costume then David’s. She smiled and read at the same time. Chocolate skin and dark blue eyes. They’re lovely. So’s this book.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel raised Frontiere up close to him, hoisting him as though he weighed nothing, certainly not eighty pounds. He held him easily with one arm under his butt, and placed his other hand against Frontiere’s chest. Montpay leaned against the back of the seat and placed a foot on the seat’s velvet and leather covered arm. He watched the strong Indian speak softly to Frontiere.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You know, we men have to stick together. You shouldn’t grab another man like you were going to do...”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Frontiere remained unconvinced and puzzled by Daniel’s appearance as he unconsciously rubbed his free hand over Daniel’s chest to see if the color would come off. He liked the smoothness of Daniel’s skin, reached up and stroked his chin with his finger tips. Needs a shave. I like him. He watched Daniel’s eyes. They’re blue, like mine. He’s no Indian!
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You wouldn’t want to hurt another guy, would you?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Frontiere nodded then catching himself shook his head. He remained unblinking and was enthralled by Daniel’s overwhelming masculinity. He smells like my father and recalled that it was so long ago that his father had held him this close. He lowered his hand rubbed it over Daniel’s belly and listened to Daniel, not taking eyes away from Daniel’s face. He felt his heart beating and the gentle steady rhythm of Daniel’s heart.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “We men must protect each other and also protect the women who are in our care.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What’s your name?” Frontiere asked sounding relaxed and near sleep.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Daniel is my name,” he said, shifting Frontiere on his arm to keep him comfortable, “ and I’ll bet you’re, let me see, you’re either Frontiere or Montpay, not now let me see....”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Frontiere, Frontiere. He’s Montpay,” he said, pointing at his brother bouncing against the back of the bench seat.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Mrs. Lovesickle lowered her book and stared at Daniel listening to him. How did he know their names? How did you know their names?” she asked.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “It’s magic,” Daniel said, smiling at the governess.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “He’s magic,” Frontiere shouted and began to wiggle in Daniel’s arms. “He knows how to do magic!”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David, aware that Montpay was left out of the encounter, stepped into the space between the two bench seats, reached for Montpay, and asked her, “May I?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 She nodded and watched the ease with which the chocolate and gold warrior reach over and picked up the eighty pounds that was Montpay. He lifts him as though he’s air. She watched the gold Indian’s stomach muscles extend as he picked up the young boy and was warmed as his loin cloth exposed more of him. She confirmed the strength of the costumed young men and became comfortable in their presence. She wished they would take charge of the twins for the evening. Ah well! She continued with her book and relaxed, enjoying the novel and the conversation.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel watched David effortlessly pick Montpay up and looked up the aisle to see Mata Hari, Clara Bowe, The Wicked Witch of the East, and Little Bow Peep, with two adult male black sheep in tow, moving shakily down the aisle. He listened to David talk big brother to Montpay in a bent over position. As he hoisted him to his arms, Mata Hari reached out and ran her fingers deftly from bottom to top and between David’s buttocks, causing his eyes to open wide. David turned and gasped as he continued talking to Montpay. Clara, patted Daniel’s rear causing him to tighten himself. The Wicked Witch of the East and Little Bow Peep passed the young Delta Rhos without incident, but one of the black sheep got David good again and caused Daniel to jump—not expecting the greeting. Daniel quickly composed himself while he tried to get a good look at the sheep: black tights, black masks, stub tails. I’ll remember them.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “...so will you promise me to look after Mrs. Lovesickle and take good care of her as long as she needs you?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Frontier nodded and looked down the front of Daniel, looking carefully at his red athletic supporter.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Tell me in words that you will,” Daniel said, smiling at Frontiere and hugging him close to him.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I will,” Frontier said. “I promise.” He pointed to Daniel’s loin cloth. “I want a supporter like the one you have,” he added and held his breath.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I’ll give you this one tomorrow, OK?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “OK!” Frontiere shouted, coming to life. Daniel saw the Big Bad Wolf followed by Little Red Riding Hood and the Three little pigs. The wolf is an older guy, red is an older woman, and the three little pigs are that, but cute little pigs. He smiled at the Wolf then Red and watched the bouncing breasts of the bosomy little pigs. He listened to Frontiere ask him questions and nodded his head to every question. A part of his hearing heard David talking to and encouraging Montpay, but his main focus was on the three sets of bouncing breasts, two average, as they moved, but one set, the last set, superb: firm, round, at attention and luscious. He turned toward her, guessed that she was his age, and pushed his rear against the adjoining panel of the two pullman bench seats. He listened to Frontiere as the pretty-faced third little pig, walked up to him, chucked Frontiere under the chin, pressed her breast against Daniel’s causing trauma between his legs, and softly cooed, “Handsome little tyke. He looks just like you.” She held the side of Frontiere’s face, patted it and walked on. Daniel observed her sheer wet panties clinging to her.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I’m surprised she didn’t rub you with her knee,” David said, softly, speaking only to Daniel, so that they boys didn’t hear him. “Talk about being vulnerable.” He watched the last of the little pigs disappear and added, “Listen, Danny, this party’s getting rough and it hasn’t started yet. Can you imagine what it will be like in there. One bacchanal after another. You guard me and I’ll guard you, OK?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I’ll guard both of you,” Montpay shouted, raising his hands to his lips and hoping for a yes from his strong big friends.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Me too,” Frontiere added. “I’m a good guard. We’re both good guards,” he said, his voice sounding more soprano.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David held Montpay close to his, cradling him with both arms. “Can I have your gold one and your helmet?” Montpay asked David.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You haven’t forgotten. Not my helmet. That is a very special gift for me, but yes, tomorrow, I’ll see to it that you get my loin cloth.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “No, I want your supporter,” Montpay said, leaning down and pointing then grabbing the top of it. Mrs. Lovesickle’s eyes moved quickly from her book to David’s cloth and back to her book.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “This supporter is really a loin cloth or a brief,” David advised.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Oh,” Montpay said.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 They stood the twins back on the bench seat and ordered them to sit down. Daniel and David lowered their heads, bid Mrs. Lovesickle good-evening, turned and walked to the exit of the pullman car. “À demain—see you tomorrow,” Daniel said, and David added, Peut-être—maybe.” He put his thumb under the top of his briefs, stretched them out from his body and said, “No matter what one calls these: briefs, jocks, jockstrap, strap, loin cloth or athletic supporters, we’ll make sure the guys here get one each tomorrow.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6Merci—thanks, Merci beaucoup—thank you very much, Messeurs—gentlemen.” They moved away from Mrs. Lovesickle while Frontiere and Montpay stared at them over the top of the bench seat with unblinking eyes. Montpay sucked on his thumb as the twins went out of view to David and Daniel.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The twins watched their strong Indian friends disappear and Frontiere volunteered. “I like them. I like both of them. I like everything about them. Their faces, blue eyes, hard chests, strong bellies, strong legs, and their wads.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What did you say?” Mrs. Lovesickle asked, moving her head closer to the pages. She moved her eyes back and forth rapidly. Frontiere was of the opinion she breathed too heavily. He frowned as she asked the question, keeping her head inside the book. “Strong bodies, hot, er, strong bellies, and what was the other word, dear?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I like them too,” Montpay said, sitting down, ignoring their governess, so that his legs and side touched his twin’s legs and side. He was always more comfortable touching his brother.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Frontiere didn’t object. They sat close together. Frontier felt a closeness to his twin and stared at him for a short time. After all, he does look like me. Exactly like me, I guess. He’s good looking. We’re good looking. He pushed back hard against the seat, put one arm behind Montpay and pulled him close to him reaching around him and grabbing his side. He reached up, placed his small hand against the side of Montpay’s head and guided his head closer. Montpay turned his head and Frontiere kissed him first on the cheek and then on the lips. Montpay smiled and looked puzzled. “I can kiss my brother if I want to.” Montpay nodded.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Mrs. Lovesickle slapped her book shut, breathed heavily, blew softly through her mouth and leaned back against her seat, savoring the end of her love story. She dabbed her forehead and heard the Frontiere’s word and watched the actions of her charges—different, calm, relaxed, loving to each other.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “We get their athletic supporters tomorrow,” Frontiere said, and from his seated position rocked himself.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Their loin cloths,” Montpay said, as he looked at his twin.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Tomorrow,” Frontiere said, and stopped rocking.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “But what say, since it’s getting to be bedtime, you quickly run to the cold water dispenser and get me two paper cups full of Rocky Mountain Ice Water. What do you say?” she asked, smiling at the bright young boys.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Ok, Mimi,” Montpay said, sliding off the bench.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 He hasn’t called me Mimi for a long time. She was warmed by Frontiere’s voice.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 He waited for Frontiere to move. “They smelled like flowers too,” he said, matter-of-factly, to Frontiere.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “They did smell funny. Big boys smell like flowers—to make girls happy, I guess.” He spread his legs, ready to stand up. “OK, we’ve got to take care of our women,” Frontier said, got down from the seat, and the twins hurried to the water dispenser, thinking about putting on and wearing their loin cloths.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Mrs. Lovesickle watched them amble together down the aisle the short distance to the water cooler. She noticed that they filled out their navy blue velvet suits, the jackets were tight in the arms, and shorter than she had noticed, while their little bottoms, stretched the fabric of their short velvet pants. They’re growing so fast—too fast! She leaned her head back knew how much she loved Frontiere and Montpay and waited for them to bring her water.

Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Why did you pick him up,” David asked, as they walked into the last car before the dining car. There were some pullman berths made up, some not started, and people in different scanty costumes. “Gads, is that two Tarzans?” David said, laughing. “Too pasty white though. Not bad looking guys.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The young Delta Rhos excused themselves as they passed among passengers standing in the aisle, waiting to walk into the dining room. “Is it open yet,” Daniel asked as they approached the end of the car. He turned to David. “There doesn’t seem to be a line.” He walked more slowly and said, in a whisper voice, “I picked him up because first of all he reached for my horn. Because of the heightened state I'm in, I didn’t need the pain. But more than that, he needed to be calmed down. I figured if I held him tight, he would feel my strength and then calm down and that’s exactly what happened. To that little Montpay too.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yeah,” David said, agreeing as they moved slowly down the aisle. “But how did you know their names: Frontiere and Montpay are not common like John and Robert.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Her name, Mrs. Henriette Lovesickle and their names: Frontiere and Montpay were on printed in large letters on their ticket folder ticket clasp between the two windows.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You’re so very, very smart, Danny. I never even noticed.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Hi I’m Cupid, “ a young brunet, covered strategically with a wide single ribbon said, and moved toward Daniel, who looked at his red lips and redder rouged circles around his nipples and belly button. They shook hands. “I’m really John Merrick,” he laughed but was not embarrassed by his costume. He turned and pointed to a woman who was straightening the seams on her long silk stockings. “This is my fiance, Lucy Harriman. She’s Miss Muffet. She wanted me to go as her spider, but I wanted to play a heavier role.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 She looked up at Daniel then David, smiled and said, “Hi.” She rubbed and stretched her hose upward.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I am Lord Chilai,” Daniel said, calmly and this is my fellow god, Lord Plorpek. We are young Chiqua gods.” David and John shook hands. “Oh?” John said not expecting a reply.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Now let me guess,” David said, moving closer to her. He wanted to grab her waist and pull her backward into him. He smelled her hair and perfume. His eyes were on fire and his heart pounded. I hope I make it through this night. He turned to look at John and Daniel and touch her bottom with his. She made no sound and he was grateful.Normally, he would have excused himself but in his state he feared he would blurt out the wrong words. I can’t believe how hot I am. I look at a woman and wow! Up the flagpole. Gads, there it goes again. He stared at Daniel, who broke off his conversation with John and understood that David was excited again. He looked at David, who tried to act casual; he stood with one hand on his scabbard while he inserted the fingers of his other hand into his battle belt. He put his weight on one foot.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You’re ready?” Daniel asked, as David rubbed his lower lip with his tongue. He’s ready! He scanned David’s body again. We are definitely getting larger in most places. Definitely bigger. He was surprised at the strength he had within his own body; how strong he felt. He enjoyed his vitality. Wouldn’t do for us both to be hard at the same time. I’m amazed at the time I spend thinking about how hot I am. Sex never used to be that important. Yep, we’re changing.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I need a shield,” David said, blushing. John smiled at David’s remark and after he looked downward then back up at David’s face, agreed.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Indeed,” he said, smiling, as he spoke confidentially to David. “We’re all that way at one time or another, aren’t we? The women love it. They like to look. Don’t hide it. You’ll be the most popular guy there tonight, besides me, that is. He looked downward at Daniel. Well maybe you too.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel took a deep breath and was glad they didn’t have to walk through more pullmans. “Let’s go, Dave,” Daniel asked.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David said good-bye to John and Lucy and the Delta Rhos walked to the end of the car.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Their briefs almost leave nothing to the imagination. Good builds though. It should be fun tonight,” John said, as he tugged the ribbon tighter between his legs.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The Chiqua walked out of sight. They stood at the end of the passageway and leaned against the wall, waiting to go into the dining car, They glanced forward into the connecting entrance platforms, watching The Big Bad Wolf held the car door open for Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs. The noise from outside, from the rails prevented normal conversation. Miss Buxom pig smiled at Daniel then David. They looked back into the passageway and expected other partygoers to arrive.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What are you doing?” Lucy asked.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Just making it a little tighter in a few places, Miss Muff,” John answered, tugging at his ribbon, and giggling at his joke at her expense.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Loosen it!”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Why, what do you mean, loosen it?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Loosen that ribbon and listen to me,” she said, talking as she turned her head and looked at the back of her legs checking her seams, “if I see you pawing one of those pretty young college kids, I’ll pull your wagon back here and really smack your ass.” She finished looking at her seams, was satisfied, fluffed her bouffant, short skirt, shook her light brown curls, away from her head, and suggested to John they were ready to make their entrance. She looked at him again. “Turn around. Let me see you from behind.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 He turned and she wondered how she let him coerce her into wearing his costume: so little ribbon. She stepped closer to him, made sure people weren’t watching, touched his buttocks, and rubbed them softly. Sticking a finger underneath part of the ribbon, she was pleased that he held his breath, she wished she could fondle him, ran her hand around his waist and pressed her belly hard against his butt. She whispered, “You have the cutest butt, I have ever seen and rotated her belly against him. Make sure you keep it just for me. Otherwise, you’re on your own.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 She turned and walked away from John slowly. “Dance once with me tonight, then you can go cat. This is your last fling. We’re going to be married in Spokane. I’ve just made up our minds. You’ve got seven hours. Have fun,” she said, blowing him a kiss. “I have to make a stop at the ladies lounge,” she said, whispering as she walked in the opposite direction, away from the dining car.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 There was a growing and tingling sensation between his legs and John was determined to explore new vistas tonight. See you later, Miss Muffet. Much later. His throbbing body was taking control. He especially wanted to get close to those young coeds from back east. Where did they go to school? Doesn’t matter. He walked slowly toward the end of the pullman. One or more of those sweethearts is going to get another lesson tonight. It continued to grow. He walked in the direction of the dining car, made the turn in the aisle, spied Daniel, who smiled at him.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel yawned, blinked and saw two John Merricks walking toward him. He frowned, glanced at David, rubbed his eyes, and looked again and saw only John approach them.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The handsome man walked into the men’s lounge, crowded with men dressing in costumes of Robin Hood, Dracula, Mark Twain, Abraham Lincoln, Boss Tweed, and the New Year. “Hmm!”. New Year is overdressed. Some men laughed at each other, talked loudly, some glanced at him, most paid no attention, but all continued to put on their costumes.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The young man looked at himself in the large mirror and wondered if should be embarrassed in any way by his appearance. When in Rome. He looked at his red lips, the red circles around his nipples and belly button, and the long wide ribbon around his body. He loosened it and didn’t mind what he saw in the mirror. He noticed by comparing his reflection to the other men in the mirror his body seemed to be larger and better developed. He turned as a finger touched him on his shoulder.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You got anything on under that ribbon?” a voice soothed by four double martinis and resembling Teddy Roosevelt asked. The man’s hand landed on the top of the young man’s buttock. His hand was hot. They swayed together, reacting to the coach, and the young man tried to stand still, keeping both of them steady. He turned and looked at the older mustached face. The older man looked at the deep blue of the young man’s eyes. He was sure the man’s eyes looked through him.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “No, not a stitch,” the soft voice said.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What would you do if someone pulled off your ribbon?” the man said, staggering both from the martinis and the bouncing pullman coach.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “That could not happen,” he said, glancing back at his image in the mirror and pulling his ribbon up tighter between his buttocks. He smoothed the ribbon over his butt, and walked out of the lounge, leaving the older man swaying, frowning with his mouth wide open.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I hope I remember what he looks like,” he said, turning to his friend, Abraham Lincoln.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You won’t have to remember, Teddy,” Abe said, slugging down the last of his double martini. He handed another full double to his brother and held him up to keep him from falling. He watched Teddy Roosevelt gulp down the entire drink, try to hold his eyes open wider, stretch his neck, and complain about the rough roadbed. He reached his free hand up to his brother, who stared down at his own hand. “What is it Teddy? What’s wrong with your hand.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I don’t know that anything is wrong with it, but it’s all red.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Why?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I don’t know.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Did you burn yourself?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “How could I have burned myself?” he asked pulling the palm closer to his eyes.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 He stared up at his brother and said, “For God’s sake Mr. Lincoln,” he said, sounding concerned, “look at the palm of my hand.” Abe was startled to see tears in his brother’s eyes. He hasn’t cried in thirty, forty years. Teddy held his shaking hand tightly around the wrist. Tears flowed down his face. Other men looked on to see what had shaken the men. Abraham Lincoln looked down at the palm and saw a white crucifix, outlined in red, as though stained or burned by some unknown manner. Teddy Roosevelt couldn’t stop crying.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “How?” his brother asked. “You were standing here getting dressed, that young guy walked in, you talked to him....”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I touched him.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “You touched him. What do you mean you touched him?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I think I know who he was or who he is,” he said, softly and continued to cry.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Who is he, Robert?” the younger brother asked?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “He’s a messenger from God.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The younger brother gasped, told his older brother he was scaring him, and looked back at the palm of his brother’s hand. Does he mean an angel? That young guy didn’t look like an angel. How could he be an angel. He was practically naked. The redness in the hand had disappeared, but the cross was still visible and bright white, like proud flesh. Something’s happened. They stared at each other as the other men looked with suspicion on the brothers, moved away from them, finished dressing and singly, by twos, and in small groups, left the men’s lounge.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Teddy Roosevelt let go of his brother, Abraham Lincoln, and walked over to a leather covered bench, knelt down and prayed. He watched the body of his brother tremble, dressed in the irrelevant costume that would never be used. He knelt down, placed his head against his brothers arm, hugged him tight, and prayed with him.

Ivy Walls, Book 6The loud cheers signalled the dining room was open and the Mardi Gras had commenced. The Big Bad Wolf held the coach door open and said to Daniel and David, “Apres vous, mes enfantes—after you, my children,” he said, using his hand to usher the young Delta Rhos and John Merrick ahead of him.
Ivy Walls, Book 6Merci monsieur—Thank you sir,” Daniel said, as he walked into the entrance platform and stepped onto the steel plate over the car couplings.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David followed him with John at his side. “Merci—Thanks,” he said to Mr. Wolf and felt chilled by the night mountain air as they moved slowly through entrance platforms. David sensed the hair on his legs respond to the air streams that encircled them. Their loin cloths rippled in the wind.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David and Daniel looked at John and advised him to hold onto his ribbon. David pulled the ribbon around John’s waist away from his belly and peered inside. “You really don’t have anything else on do you?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Nope,” John said, “but it is getting a tad drafty out here.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Stand closer to us and you’ll stay warm. It looks like they’re giving out party favors in the dining car. Here we go, we’re moving now,” Daniel said, and looked down below the cars and couldn’t see the railroad tracks. The lights in the entrance platforms extinguished, the wind became still, there was no sound, and darkness surrounded the young men.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What’s going on?” John asked. “It’s like we’re in a vacuum.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 Daniel reached out and touched David. “I’m right here,” David said, and saw Daniel only as a blinking white and dark shadow, lighted by the moon as it flashed through tall pine trees into the car. He reached out and touched Daniel’s chest and arm.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I can’t hear the train’s wheels clicking on the rails, can you?” Daniel asked using a normal tone of voice.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David shook his head and said, “No.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Hey guys, this is scary. What the....”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 The overhead single bulbs lit up the passageway again, the train’s wheels clicked out the staccato rhythm of wheels clicking on steel rail joints, and normal train sound was heard. The three young men walked forward into the dining car and didn’t see as many people as they expected.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Perhaps most of the people are behind us. I thought that many were ahead of us,” he said, turning looking back at David as Emanual placed several colorful leis around his neck.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Got to watch your plumes,” Manual said. “Please come in sir.” Daniel walked past Emanual and counted ten costumed people when he knew many more than that had passed him in the last car: Mata Hari, Clara Bowe, The Big Bad....” He looked up at David, past John Merrick and didn’t see the Wolf. “Where is he?” he said, to David.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Who?” David asked, adjusting his leis. He looked at John.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Mr. Wolf,” Daniel said.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “He’s right....”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yeah, right,” Daniel said, as he hurried past David and John and continued through the first door into the bouncing entrance platforms, back into the next pullman car. He didn’t know why the thought of two John Merricks came into his mind, as he rushed toward the doorway to the men’s lounge. He stepped inside the large room, looked down at a Safari Suit, socks, and boots—Teddy Roosevelt’s? He walked to the bench and looked directly down at the pile of dark clothes, long coat, trousers, gray socks, and pull on shoes—Abe Lincoln’s? He heard a different buzzing, turned around and faced John Merrick, who appeared like a brilliant glass figurine. It’s not John. John’s face smiled and bowed its head to Daniel, slowly and elegantly and disappeared in front of him.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 David rushed into the lounge and shouted to Daniel, “Are you alright?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Yeah?” he answered by asking himself. “Yeah?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “Are you asking me or what?” David asked.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 John Merrick walked into the room, part of his ribbon trailing behind him. “What's going on?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What is it Danny?” David asked taking his brother by the arms. “What happened?”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “I think I saw an angel,” Daniel said. “And down here on the floor are the clothes that those men wore, you know, Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. They passed us while we were chatting in one of the pullman cars.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “An angel?” David asked.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 John’s tingling sensation disappeared. He turned and glimpsed Lucy hurry past the men’s lounge, knew she would be looking for him, and slowly backed away from David and Daniel. “Look, guys,” he said, walking back to the doorway, “I really don’t know what happened here tonight. It’s too much for me to comprehend, especially when I have one thing on my mind.” He rubbed himself and tightened the ribbon around his waist haphazardly. “I’ve got to go. See you guys later.”
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “What are we going to do now?” David asked.
Ivy Walls, Book 6 “How about a little partying?” Daniel suggested. They walked out of the men’s lounge and head back to the dining car.
