Holy Trinity Mission Statement

(May be sung to the tune of the Doxology)

Transformed by God to live and grow
as an accepting community
that we may take the love of Christ
into the world (into the world).

Holy Trinity Outreach

Caring is Sharing is the outreach program at Holy Trinity for 2007. This letter to members of the congregation describes the program:

Mission 2007

"Love one another as I loved you."

- Jesus, 29 A.D.

"Caring is Sharing."

- Holy Trinity Vestry, 2007 A.D.

As we reflect on the Passion of our Lord this Easter season, His commandment lingers in our minds. Echoing the sentiment of His commandment, our Vestry has established "Caring is Sharing" as our theme for Mission 2007.

Remembering that we are more than just a church in Covina, Holy Trinity parish has demonstrated in the past it's commitment to "taking the love of Christ into the world", as our Mission Statement challenges us. This year again, we have opportunities, for Christian outreach, all of which are explained in the enclosed mailing.

Participation is as easy as filling in the pledge card with a specific amount to one or more of the listed beneficiaries, or pledging to the Vestry discretion fund. Mail the pledge card in the enclosed stamped envelope to the church office or place the pledge in the Sunday offertory plate. Then make one payment or stretch out the payments from now until March 1, 2008.

You may notice that the ministries we are supporting this year focus on young people. Although unintentional, it clearly reflects an awareness of where the future of the church lies. "Caring is Sharing" is more than a slogan, it is a conscious act and your generosity WILL make a difference.

Sincerely,

Mother Judy - Rector

Fernando Valdes - Senior Warden

Jim Sanderson - Committee Chair

Heifer Project International

As the Children of the parish come up to the altar for communion, they delight in putting coins in "Our Pig" that sits on the ledge beside the steps leading up to the sanctuary. A check for the amount collected is periodically sent to the Heifer Project International (HPI). HPI provides food-producing animals and training in their care to needy families overseas and in the United States.

Christian Children's Fund
The parish contributes to the support of "Lani", a 10-year-old Indonesian girl.

West Covina Food Bank

A shopping cart sits year round in the back of the church collecting food donations for the West Covina Food Bank. In addition the parish supports the food bank with financial donations.
